For those of you reading this that are like, "What's a vision board?" In its simplest definition, a vision board is just that, a visual representation of the things that you want most in your business and life! So think travel, people to meet, material things, etc. Maybe you're wondering why having a vision board is so important, and that's exactly what I want to talk to you about in today's blog!
Did you know that less than 5% of people ever achieve the goals that they set out for themselves!? LESS THAN 5%, that's insane! Which begs the question: why? Well, the answer is actually a pretty simple one: most people never keep their goals in front of them.
They make their goals or as you sometimes have heard them refer to, "New Year's Resolutions," only to forget about them and discard them after a few weeks. The reason is that they don't have anything in front of them, pushing them to be accountable, but more importantly, reminding them WHY they chose to make that a goal in the first place.
If you want to achieve the goals in your life, then you need to have a constant VISUAL reminder of what those goals and dreams are. It's not enough to just have them floating around in your head because there's a lot of other information being processed up there, which leads people to push those goals and dreams to the side.
If you want two surefire ways to achieve your goals then you need to: consistently write your goals down, daily if you can, then most important, take those written goals/dreams and turn them into visual representations on your board. And make sure you put that board front and center where you see it multiple times a day!
Don't stick it in your basement where you'll never see it! Put it in your work office so that every time you sit down, you remember why you're working so hard, why you're putting in so much effort . . . it's for your future, for your family, so you can live the life you've always wanted!
So what's the easiest way to create your own board? I usually suggest people go to a place like "Michael's" and get a board, which usually will only cost $10-20, then go on Pinterest and start to find those pictures of the things you want. I also put pictures of my family on there because that's the main reason why I work so hard.
Next, I like to go to a place like CVS/Walgreen's and get 4x6s done, which in total will only cost about $5 (since who uses photos anymore lol). Then I go home and start to put together my board! The main thing to remember is really thinking about why you're starting your business, because that's what you want front and center on your board, because thinking about that "why" will be what get's you through those tough times in business!
